Mike Schintz grew up along the Highwood River in southern Alberta and migrated to Banff where he hired on as a warden. The Parks Service took him from Newfoundland to the west coast, and from close encounters with bears and the angry waters of Lake Ontario to exciting scenes with wild horses and dramatic rescues on remote peaks.
